KS4

At GCSE students at Meden follow the AQA GCSE Geography specification.

As part of the GCSE geography course students are expected to carry out 2 fieldwork enquirers.

  • A 1 day visit will be planned to investigate how effective transport strategies are in Nottingham.
  • A second 1 day visit will be planned to investigate whether Burbage Brook in the Peak District follows a typical river regime.

We also offer optional residential visits as to enhance students learning. In the past this has involved a 3 day visit to London focusing on how effective regeneration has been and a visit to Northern France focusing on coastal landforms and management.

Below is information about our KS4 curriculum. Each drop down box contains the topics we cover. For more detail on the knowledge we teach, please click on each medium term plan. Our curriculum map shows the learning journey that our students embark upon.
