Enrichment

Meden School offers a comprehensive programme of enrichment and extracurricular activities enabling students to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Enrichment activities are a compulsory element of the timetable at KS3.

We have access to excellent sports facilities and students enjoy activities including football, hockey, netball, rugby, cross-country, tennis and athletics. Meden students regularly compete at county level and our sports teams have a strong tradition of success.

Community is very much at the heart of Meden School and in partnership with several local organisations and committees, students are encouraged to take part in regular community projects including environmental clean ups, residential home visits and town centre improvements. In addition we run a wide range of trips and visits, which include residential and international opportunities.

Between our school staff and expert external providers, we are extremely proud of the provision that we offer and the experiences that the students are able to have. The benefits, both socially and academically for our students in beyond measure which is why our goal is to ensure there is something for every student throughout the school to be constantly involved in.

At Meden we support our students to engage in extra-curricular activities because if they do they are more engaged in school life, are more proactive and are more likely to have a healthy school-life balance.  Colleges and employers look for well-rounded and proactive students and are very keen to recruit students who play an active role in school life
