My child has a medical appointment?
We ask that were possible, you make routine medical appointments and other appointments out of school hours. If this is not possible, we require notification in advance. Please provide a note from home and/or appointment letter/card to confirm the appointment so we are able to authorise this. Email attendance@medenschool.co.uk

I wish to take my child away on holiday during term time?
- The school tries to discourage students from taking any holidays during term time. In the event of a request for holiday leave, a form can be completed and given to the Attendance Officer . This has to be ratified by the Headteacher, who has sole discretion in the matter. Holidays are only authorised in exceptional circumstances. My child is away from school and no prior notice has been given?
- Please contact school during the morning to confirm the absence. If no call has been received, school will contact home via text in the first instance. You can telephone our switchboard 01623 843517 option 2 but may find it easier to email attendance@medenschool.co.uk.
Please help us to minimise this administrative work by explaining absence on the first morning of the first day, or if you know of a future absence then please advise via telephone or email. Please use attendance@medenschool.co.uk

Contact Details
Parents can help ensure that the school has accurate contact details by informing the school if there are any changes to phone numbers etc. during the year. Your contact details can be viewed and amended using your MCAS Parent app. If you cannot access the app please contact us on office@medenschool.co.uk. Details on how to reset your password can be found on our Student & Parent Portal Page

Leave of Absence
The Leave of Absence Form replaces what was once called a Holiday Form. If you wish to apply for your child to be absent from school during term time then this is the form you need to complete and hand in to school.
