Meden Students Celebrate Amazing Results

Meden School would like to congratulate all Year 11 students on their GCSE results and all of their hard work on the run-up to the exams this year.

Students receiving their results today have shown incredible resilience, throughout the academic disruption and emotional consequences of the pandemic, and should all be very proud of their achievements, congratulations to them all.

Meden students secured strong results again this year, a fantastic achievement given the challenges that remained over the past couple of years.

Jim Smith, head teacher, said: “Huge congratulations to all our students receiving their results today. Their hard work and dedication to their studies has been exemplary. The grades our students have received today will set them up for the next step in their educational journey – be that staying on at Meden College or undertaking their post-16 studies elsewhere.”

“Despite the many challenges they have faced over the last 3 years, they have demonstrated both resilience and an excellent attitude to learning, and they should be immensely proud of everything they have achieved.”

“Special thanks to Meden staff and the Meden School community who have worked tirelessly to support our young people to achieve their very best.”

Matthew Wass, Chair of Governors, added: “I am extremely pleased with the outcomes of students from Meden School. The hard work exhibited by students, staff, parents and the whole school community in difficult times, has led to positive outcomes that the school can be proud of.”

Ofqual announced today that there has been a return, for the first time this year, to pre-pandemic grading and that it is therefore more meaningful to compare this year’s results with those of 2019, the last summer exam series before the pandemic.
