Success at the Nottingham Evening Post Education Awards

Every school is filled with inspiring and hard working young people and members of staff , but it is always an honour when members of the school are nominated for special awards in recognition of the work they do every single day.

Last night the awards took place at The Crowne Plaza hotel in Nottingham and lucky enough to attend were Y10 student Sophie Booth, Inclusion Manager Maxine Hague and Operations Manager Tracy Booth.

What a fabulous evening was had by all. A glitzy event, filled with young people and adults from many schools across the whole of Nottinghamshire, all nominated by their peers, by teachers, or my members of the public for the special things they do and the achievements they have gained.

Every single person in that room was a winner, having been shortlisted from hundreds of nominations. Runners up in their personal categories were Maxine Hague (Most Inspiring Teacher) and Tracy Booth (Support Staff of the Year) but the star of the evening was Sophie Booth winner of the 'Beating the Odds' category. Sophie, a year 10 student at Meden has faced a number of personal challenges but despite everything continues to put 100% effort in to everything she does and is set to achieves excellent grades in her GCSE's.

Well done to all those who took part in the evening. You are all amazing!
