A Level Results

A Level results day is always an anxious day as, not only do students wait nervously for their results, but they also find out if they have been successfully accepted into their choice of university.

Meden College is a fairly small post 16 centre and with only 1 of our A Level students not planning on going to university, yesterday really was a big day!

We needn't have worried though as 83% of our students got accepted into their 1st choice university and the remaining into their 2nd choice, with many of them being accepted into top Russell Group universities.

Massive congratulations to all of our students but I must mention some stand out performances:

  • Mason Hartshorn A* Biology, A Chemistry, A Physics and B in Extended project who goes on to Imperial College London to study Medicine
  • Jack Maddison A* Maths, A Further Maths, B Economics who will go on to Leeds university to study Mathematics.
  • Keenan Somes A* Maths, A Further Maths, B Economics who will go on to study Financial Maths at Sheffield University.
  • Jack Chinery A* Maths, A Further Maths, B Economics who is off to the University of Nottingham to study Mathematics (with International study)
  • Luke Hind who despite spending hours in his time outside of school training and competing in professional cycling, achieved A* Maths, A Geography and B Further Maths. Luke will go on to the University of Nottingham to study Mathematics. A true inspiration!

Students will now go on to study a variety of courses including Geography, International Relations & Politics, Wildlife Conservation, Pharmacy, Architecture and Maths.

Good luck to all our students. We know that whatever they go on to do in the future, they will be amazing!
