Meden Student Smash their Target for Laps for Lapland - UPDATE!

On Wednesday 30th November, Meden students and staff took to the playing fields to do laps in aid of the Wish upon a Star Charity, 'Laps for Lapland'.

The Meden College students, organised the event as part of their National Citizen Service, and set a target of £800 which would be enough money to send a terminally ill child to Lapland this Christmas.

The sun was shining and the atmosphere on the field was jolly and bright. All of the students and staff donned their elf hats and set off on their mammoth walk. It was magic!

The best news is that today the money was counted and with still yet more money to come the total was smashed!! The following totals were collected:

  • £1 donations = £451.54
  • College sales = £201.64
  • Sponsorship money = £1049.24

Total raised £ far and still more to come in!

An anonymous donator has also pledged to donate a sum of money on top of what the students and their families have raised so this amount may increase even more! Watch this space!! This sum of money will pay for 2 terminally ill children and their familes' to go to lapland.

A special mention must go to Molly Wass and her family who managed to raise over £200! Thank you so much for all your support!

UPDATE : Final figure raised for the charity is £2100!! Massive thanks to all those who took part and those who contributed to this worthwhile charity.
