Year 7 Drama
Students have 1 lesson a week of drama in Year 7. It is expected that all students follow the 5 C's of Drama in their lessons which are: Concentration, Co-operation, Confidence, Communication and Contribution.
Students will be taught key drama techniques, for example: Split Screen, Mime, Freeze Frame, Thought Tracking and use of proxemics that they will need to use in their devised pieces. They will also be given the opportunity to read and learn lines from a published play and to understand the process of page to stage. Students will also be taught how to successfully use their voice and movement in a performance to convey character and how to successfully engage with their audience.

How am I assessed in Drama in Year 7?
Assessment takes place through both practical work and written extended writing work. In practical assessments each student will be assesed on their contribution towards working with others in a group to produce either a devised piece or scripted piece from page to stage. Students will also be assessed on their performance of their created piece and their evaluation skills of their own work and that of others.
Homework will be set every other week and it is vitally important that all students ensure that they are completing this as it will further help to enhance students progression in drama.
